Irfan Pathan's Critical Advice To KKR, DC Management Ahead of IPL 2025 Retention Deadline

Former India Cricketer Irfan Pathan expressed his reservations over the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Delhi Capitals management, possibly parting ways with their skippers, Rishah Pant and Shreyas Iyer. He expressed that the Knight Riders losing out on Iyer would be a huge loss. he also hoped to see the Capitals working out with Pant as he believes his potential as a player and skipper is huge, and the market cap is massive.

"If Shreyas Iyer isn’t retained after leading the team to an IPL title, it’d be a real loss. hoping Delhi also works to keep Rishabh Pant—his potential as both a player and captain, along with his market value, is massive," Irfan Pathan tweeted on 'X'.

While Pathan has expressed his thoughts, it looks like the franchises would certainly miss out on their respective skippers. According to reports, once the GMR-led management took over, they decided to get rid of Rishabh Pant. The DC management has a 'complicated structure' which allows each of the co-owners to run the team for two years. DC have retained four players in the team. The four names are Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Abhishek Porel and Tristan Stubbs. The new DC management is seeking for Shreyas Iyer to join the team.
