Michael Vaughan Predicts Which IPL Franchise Would Pick James Anderson in Auction

During an appearance on the Club Prairie Fire Podcast, former England captain Michael Vaughan says he wouldn't be astonished if retired pacer James Anderson joins the Chennai Super Kings franchise. One huge reason that Vaughan pointed out was that the five-time IPL champions would prefer a fast bowler with swing in the auction, and Anderson looks to be an ideal pick for it.

"You mention James Anderson, I would not be surprised if Jimmy Anderson ends up at Chennai Super Kings. They are a team that like someone who can swing it inside the first few overs. They have always had a swinger, whether it is Shardul Thakur or someone else. It would not surprise me if Jimmy Anderson ends up at Chennai," Vaughan said.

The veteran pacer, who last played a T20 match ten years ago in 2014, has never competed in a global franchise T20 league. Anderson has preferred red ball cricket and recently stepped down from action after competing in his final test match against West Indies at Lord's Cricket Ground. The veteran pacer said he entered the auction to improve his knowledge of the game, and he has set a base price of Rs 1.25 crore for the mega IPL auction.

James Anderson is one of 1500 players who have registered for the IPL mega auction, which will take place on November 24th and 25th, 2024, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
