'Money or legacy': Former India opener takes a dig at Hardik Pandya for ditching Gujarat Titans

As Hardik Pandya rejoined his old team Mumbai Indians, former Indian opener and eminent commentator Aakash Chopra took a dig at the all rounder.

Hardik Pandya's move to Mumbai Indians could be termed as the biggest heist in the history of the Indian Premier League. The IPL-winning captain has been traded back to his former franchise Mumbai Indians from Gujarat Titans, the team he joined back in 2022. Pandya's transfer has disrupted the entire cricketing scene.

Hardik Pandya's return to the fold now means he could be handed over the vice-captaincy of Mumbai Indians as he is reported to be Rohit Sharma's successor for the leadership role. Pandya lifted four IPL titles during his previous stint with Mumbai and could add a few more in upcoming seasons. Gujarat Titans have announced Shubman Gill as the new captain as the Indian youngster will now have a tough task to cut out.

Aakash Chopra takes a subtle dig at Hardik Pandya

Hardik's move to MI has had every kind of reaction and former Indian opener and eminent commentator Aakash Chopra also offered his insight into the deal. Taking a subtle dig at Hardik Pandya, Aakash Chopra claimed that one should choose wisely between money and legacy which would define him for the rest of his life.

Aakash Chopra posted on X, β€œOnce in a while life would give you an opportunity to choose between money and legacy. Whatever you choose will define you for the rest of your life.”

Mumbai also traded Australian all-rounder Cameron Green to Royal Challengers Bangalore which now allows them to have some room in their squad.
