Indian Premier League: Following the eight-wicket defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 in Guwahati on March 26, former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa urged Rajasthan Royals (RR) to analyze their auction strategy and added that the Royals have a thin bowling attack in the ongoing T20 tournament. RR conceded their second defeat in the IPL 2025.

KKR's Quinton de Kock was named the 'Player of the Match' following his unbeaten 97-run knock at a strike rate of 159.02.

RR's Bowling Attack Seems A Bit Thin: Uthappa

Speaking exclusively on JioHotstar, Uthappa said that the Rajasthan-based franchise needs to see what they have missed in the IPL 2025 mega-auction. He added that the Royals' bowling attack relied heavily on Sandeep Sharma and Jofra Archer.

"They’ll need to reflect on their auction strategy and analyse what they might have missed. But hindsight is a luxury they don’t have right now. Their bowling attack seems a bit thin, relying heavily on Sandeep Sharma and Jofra Archer. However, it’s important to consider that Jofra Archer is returning to regular cricket after a hiatus of over two and a half years. He has endured multiple injuries and other challenges that have taken a toll on his body. That inevitably affects a player’s mental makeup and self-confidence. There’s a lot to unpack here," Uthappa told JioHotstar.
