The auction for the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was held at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on Tuesday, December 19. A hilarious confusion occurred during the IPL 2024 auction after Punjab Kings seemingly bought Shashank Singh by mistake. The Punjab Kings table was seen requesting the auctioneer to take the purchase back.

Punjab Kings issue clarification
Punjab Kings became a victim of trolling on social media ever since the incident occurred on Tuesday. However, the franchise has now issued a statement confirming that Shashank Singh was always on their target list and that his purchase was not a mistake. Shashank Singh was bought by Punjab for his base price of Rs. 20 lakh.
