Yuvraj Singh may join Gujarat Titans as their head coach
Under their leadership, the Titans achieved remarkable success, winning the IPL title in their debut season in 2022 and finishing as runners-up the following year. However, their performance in 2024 was less impressive, with the team ending the season in eighth place despite Shubman Gill's leadership.
According to a report by News18, discussions are underway for Yuvraj Singh to join the Gujarat Titans' backroom staff. Mentor Gary Kirsten has already departed to take up a role with the Pakistan national team.
A source close to the situation revealed, “Lot of changes on the cards. Ashish Nehra and Vikram Solanki are highly likely to move on, and discussions around Yuvraj Singh have already begun.” This potential shift indicates a new direction for the franchise as they look to revitalize their squad and coaching team for the upcoming season.
Ahead of IPL 2024, Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya left Gujarat Titans after leading the side for two seasons. Pandya returned to Mumbai Indians as their new captain, replacing Rohit Sharma. Shubman Gill was appointed the captain of Gujarat Titans following Hardik's departure.
There are also reports suggesting that Gujarat Titans owners, CVC Capital Partners, are in discussions with the Adani Group to sell majority stakes in the team. The Adani Group had previously expressed interest in purchasing an IPL franchise during the BCCI's auction of two teams in 2021.
