The future of Ishan Kishan in cricket was in the mud as the star wicketkeeper-batter hasn't been in action for the national side in quite a while. Ishan Kishan set to be in domestic action at Buchi Babu Tournament, to lead Jharkhand as the skipper
Ishan Kishan has made himself available for domestic cricket, as the India wicketkeeper-batter will be in action for his state cricket team, Jharkhand. The cricketer updated the JSCA and was selected to be a part of the Buchi Babu Tournament and will lead the side as the skipper. The competition will be in the red-ball format, and the star India cricketer will join the team in Chennai on Wednesday. For Kishan, it could be the first step towards his return to FC Cricket and eventually get his spot back on the national team. He hasn't been a part of first-class cricket since December 2022.
"With Ishan, it was never about ability. It was only about whether he was ready to return. The decision was with him. When he was not included in the initial list, it was only because we hadn't heard from him. The moment he expressed his keenness to return, he was drafted in," a JSCA representative said, as per ESPNCricinfo.

Ishan Kishan is preparing for a comeback arc, but it will not be easy. The wicketkeeper-batter, who was eligible to play in the Ranji Trophy, was reportedly involved in a controversy with the BCCI because he chose not to participate. He came up as the wicketkeeper-batter In place of Rishabh Pant, who was healing from the horrific car accident in 2022. It will be challenging for the Jharkhand-based keeper-batter, with Pant returning to the pitch and upstarts like Dhruv Jurel enticing the selectors with their talents both behind the wicket and with the bat.
