India's Shubman Gill had a chance to score large but only managed 10 runs off 32 balls against Pakistan. The fast bowler Haris Rauf took his wicket as from the first over on, Gill had trouble getting the bat on the ball, and his poor technique ultimately led to his dismissal. Ishan Kishan, the wicketkeeper-batsman, and Hardik Pandya, the all-rounder, made a record fifth-wicket stand in an ODI match against Pakistan, which saved the team. When the dust settled, India had scored 266 runs in 48/5 overs. Rain prevented India and Pakistan from playing in the Asia Cup 2023

IND vs PAK: Gautam Gambhir makes a huge statement about Shubman Gill
According to Gautam Gambhir, Shubman Gill needs to concentrate on his technique when facing incoming deliveries, namely the need of closing the large gap between the bat and pad. On September 2nd, while playing for India in their Asia Cup 2023 Group A match against Pakistan in Pallekele, Gill was only able to score 10 runs. After electing to bat first, the Indian team was bowled out for 266, but the match was called off owing to rain before Babar Azam's side could face a single ball.
In answer to a question on Gill's dismissal, Gambhir suggested that the batsman work on his technique when facing incoming deliveries during a conversation on Star Sports.

"It is a technical flaw but I believe he tried to play differently from his natural game because a lot of wickets had fallen from the other end. Rohit Sharma lost his wicket, then Virat Kohli lost his wicket and after that Shreyas Iyer also got out."
IND vs PAK: Gambhir wants Gill to avoid huge gaps between the pad and the bat
"So he was trying to build a partnership. It was a good ball as well but if you play while leaving such a big gap between bat and pad, a quality bowler will expose you. It's extremely necessary for Shubman Gill to work on this."

Shubman Gill played it incredibly safe during Saturday's game. He didn't make a run until the tenth ball he faced, and his 32-ball innings produced only one boundary. When Haris Rauf bowled him through the gate, his innings was over. Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan’s 138-run partnership helped India make a respectable 266 runs but Pakistan never got the chance to bat and chase the target due to rain’s interruption. Now the Rohit Sharma led team will be facing Nepal on September 4, 2023. The Asia Cup 2023, Group A, is topped by Pakistan with 4 points, and India is second, with Nepal standing third.
