elaide Strikers' opener Jake Wearald was subjected to arguably most bizarre dismissal on 22 yards when he was run out at both ends during a Big Bash League (BBL) match against Sydney Thunder at elaide Oval on Sunday. 

'What just happened?!'

This happened in 10th over of first innings that was bowled by spinner Chris Green. After opener, Alex Carey h departed for a quickfire 29, Jake and number three batsman Phil Salt h carried out rescue act for ir side before unfortunate run-out changed scenario.

On penultimate delivery, Green h bowled a tossed-up delivery on middle stump as Salt who was on strike hit it straight down ground as ball me contact with bowler after which it ended up hitting stumps at n-strikers' end. re was a huge appeal from Sydney players but on-field umpire looked disinterested.

neless, as ball deflected on on-side, Salt decided to go for a quick single while Wearald hesitated in doing so, and by time he could make his ground, wicket-keeper h seemingly dislodged bails. w, umpire decided to refer matter to third umpire. Replays showed that he was alrey run out at bowler's hand after ball h clipped bowler's fingers before breaking stumps and when cameras zoomed towards strikers' end, it was revealed that stumper h removed bails even before batsman h me it to or end which means that Jake Wearald was run out at both ends.

elaide skipper Travis He won toss and elected to bat first. Top-order contributions from Carey (29),  Wearald (31), Salt (31), He (31), and, Ryan Gibson (22) helped hosts in posting a respectable total of 159/6 from ir 20 overs.

In reply, Thunder lost wicket of in-form opener Alex Hales early but his opening partner Usman Khawaja (36) and skipper Callum Ferguson (22) ded 46 runs for second-wicket stand and once duo was dismissed, Sydney franchise started losing wickets at regular intervals.
