James Anderson's Emotional Reunion With Stuart Broad After Retirement

As James Anderson said goodbye to cricket by playing his 188th and final test match, he was greeted by his former teammate Stuart Broad.

James Anderson finally called time on his legendary cricket career as he played his final test match for England vs West Indies at Lords. England gave James Anderson the perfect farewell as they defeated West Indies by an innings and 114 runs to kickstart their summer in the best possible way. 

As James Anderson said goodbye to international cricket by playing his 188th and final Test, he shared an emotional reunion with his pace partner at England for so many years Stuart Broad.

James Anderson retired from test cricket picking up four wickets in his final test match. As he bid adieu to the cricket, many England greats including Michael Atherton, Nasser Hussain, Andrew Strauss gave the perfect farewell to James Anderson. 

However, one of the most emotional moments came when James Anderson reunited with his pace partner Stuart Broad.

In a video shared by England Cricket on their social media, James Anderson and Stuart Broad can be seen hugging each other after the latter conducted an interview with Anderson on retirement.

James Anderson and Stuart Broad's Iconic England Partnership

James Anderson and Stuart Broad formed one of the most iconic bowling partnerships in Test Cricket as the two terrorized England's opponents with their devastating pace and swing. James Anderson and Stuart Broad have 1308 wickets in between them with Anderson picking up 704 and Stuart Broad picking up 604. 

Stuart Broad joked ahead of the game that he had never seen Jimmy Anderson smile this much. “I've seen him smile more today than I have done for the last 20 odd years,” said Stuart Broad on Anderson's retirement.

Stuart Broad and James Anderson played together with one another for 16 years and that partnership came to an end last summer when Stuart Broad decided to retire from cricket after the Ashes last summer. James Anderson and Stuart Broad both retire from Test Cricket as the fast bowlers with the most wickets in the format.
