'I have to deal with and accept': Anderson lets his feelings out ahead of farewell Test series vs WI

James Anderson is all set to step down from the longer format, with his farewell tour all set to commence soon. The upcoming Test series against the West Indies would be the last of him in action as the English stalwart will step down and pave the way for the upcoming talent. With Anderson's farewell all set to take place at home, it will be a bittersweet moment for the veteran to step down from the red-ball format. As the days come closer, Anderson has opened up on stepping down, revealing that he has no regrets and is trying to accept it as he heads towards his farewell with the home test series.

James Anderson expresses his emotions ahead of the farewell series against West Indies at home

James Anderson amassed greatness in India as he secured a colossal 700-wicket feat against the Indian Cricket Team. Even though they lost by 5-1, the veteran has a big reason to cherish as he amassed the gargantuan feat which very few bowlers have been able to attain. Before setting foot in his farewell Test series, Anderson let his thoughts out, saying that he has no regrets as he retires from the format.

"It has been a pretty strange couple of months but I feel pretty happy with where things are. I can completely understand the way the management and the team want to go. I saw their point of view and appreciated them taking the time to lay it out for me I have made peace with that and we will see what the future holds.

"Whether it is now, a year or two years... the fact that it is now is just something I have to deal with and accept. I do not have any regrets. I have played hundreds of games for England, in both white ball and red ball. I have played longer than a lot of people get the opportunity to do," Anderson said in the pre-match press conference as quoted by Sky Sports.

As part of the current ICC World Test Championship cycle, England will host the West Indies for a three-match Test series. With West Indies at number six and England at number nine in the rankings, both teams will be keen to rack up important points.
