Jasprit Bumrah Misses Out on 3rd India vs New Zealand Test in Mumbai, BCCI Offers An Update

Team India are in action at the Wankhede Stadium for the 3rd and Final Test match against New Zealand in Mumbai. While the Blackcaps have won the series with a 2-0 lead, India are still not holding their guard down and aims to seek a consolation win. With all the attention now heading down under, Team India are looking to keep their chances at WTC alive.

Jasprit Bumrah Down With Illness, Not Selected For Final IND vs NZ Test in Mumbai

India's star pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah misses out from the 3rd Test match between India and England at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The BCCI offered a reason behind his unavailability as they revealed that the pace bowler is still recovering from a viral illness. At the toss, Rohit Sharma announced the change, saying that Bumrah couldn't make it since he us unwell, and Siraj will be replacing him.  

“Mr Jasprit Bumrah has not fully recovered from his viral illness. He was unavailable for selection for the third Test in Mumbai,” the BCCI posted on ‘X’ [Formerly Twitter].

Reports from The Indian Express also adds that Bumrah has been rested due to workload management, as Team India would need their star pacer healthy for the ultimate challenge down under when they will face Australia for the Border Gavaskar Trophy series. Bumrah did not bowl in the nets during the Wednesday afternoon practice session with the Indian team. Rather, he engaged in his exercises and exercises. The star pacer returned home to Ahmedabad on the same day.

“He won’t be playing the Mumbai Test and has flown back home. The Indian team management wanted him to take some rest so that he could recover his body. He will now join the Indian team when the team departs for Australia,” the reports stated.

As Mohammed Siraj has been named in the Playing XI of the Final Test match, young pacer Harshit Rana missed out on the chance yet again.
