The Kolkata rape and murder case has left the entire country shocked. The brutal killing of the 31-year-old trainee doctor at the RG Kar Medical College last Friday has sparked nationwide protests. People are in anguish and they are demanding death penalty for the prime accused Sanjay Roy. The trainee doctor had fallen asleep after working for consecutive 36-hours in the hospital's seminar hall.

Every Woman Deserves Better': Jasprit Bumrah

After the likes of Ayushmann Khurrana, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Samantha, Preity Zinta, Sara Ali Khan, India pacer Jasprit Bumrah has spoken regarding the horrific incident. The India speedster shared Alia Bhatt's post on his Instagram story. Bumrah who last played for India in the T20 World Cup has been exempted from the upcoming Duleep Trophy.

Miscreants Vandalise Property At RG Kar Hospital

Unidentified miscreants entered the premises of state-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital here shortly after midnight on Thursday and vandalised portions of the medical facility, where the body of a woman doctor was found last week, police said.

The incident took place amid midnight protests by women against the horrific rape-murder of the doctor at the hospital last week. A group of people, disguised as protestors, entered the hospital premises, vandalised property and pelted stones at policemen, they said.

Crimes Against Women Should Be Probed Swiftly: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday said state governments should act on crimes against women with "utmost urgency" and called for instilling deterrence among perpetuators, his comments coming in the backdrop of the alleged rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata.

Addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the 78th Independence Day, Modi expressed profound concern over incidents of rape and violence against women and said he can feel the outrage of people.
