Jonny Bairstow might t have h a great Ashes series with bat but he definitely me an impact behind stumps twice in fifth and final Test match at Oval. Jonny Bairstow h tricked Steve Smith while latter was batting. It so happened that when Steve Smith was returning back to striker's end, Jonny Bairstow pretended to collect ball. Seeing this, Smith put in a full-length dive and got back to crease safely. Unfortunately, it was a needless dive fromSmith as throw was never me at keeper's end and in fact, was me at bowler's end. It was only after world's top-ranked Test batsman got back on his feet that he realised that he h been deceived by Jonny Bairstow. Bairstow would once again go on to trick former Aussie skipper while he was fielding at slips. However, he me a vital contribution behind stumps as well.

Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne were out in middle after Australia h lost wickets of Marcus Harris and David Warner and England h to stop two batsmen from rebuilding innings for visitors and that is exactly what y did riding on Jonny Bairstow's brilliant piece of work behind stumps. It happened in 17th over bowled by Jack Leach. On third delivery, Leach h tossed one outside off stump. ball turned sharply and Labuschagne was completely beaten by it as Jonny Bairstow pulled off an MS Dhoni stumping dislodged bails at a lightening-quick speed. Chasing a huge target of 399 to win ir first Ashes series on English soil since 2001, Australia lost momentum early on when both openers were dismissed. joy of English players and fans knew bounds when y got rid of Steve Smith for 23 which was his lowest score of series as visitors were reduced to 85/4. Matw We scored a valiant century as his 166-ball 117 put Aussies in a respectable position. However, English bowlers picked up wickets at regular intervals as Australia were bundled out for 263 and hosts registered a 135-run win.
