K Hariharan concerned for umpires during D/N Test between India-B'desh

As India and Bangladesh gear up for historic pink-ball Test match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, veteran umpire K Hariharan has hinted a slight point of concern for umpires in match. Hariharan said that umpires will need to watch out for twilight period as it might be a bit challenging. historic Test which will be first day/night Test played by Bangladesh as well as Team India is scheduled to be played from vember 22 to vember 26 in Kolkata.

"Important to see how pink ball behaves under lights"
Veteran umpire K Hariharan while speaking to ANI on Friday said, "It won't make much of a difference. However, it will be interesting to see how pink ball will behave under lights, wher it will maintain its shine or t, orwise it would just be ar regular Test game for umpires." He added, "We do t kw how pink ball will behave under floodlights, with dew coming into play, ball might t swing much and that might be a concern for umpires."
While reflecting upon what thought process of umpires should have during day/night Test. "As I said, twilights part would be most tricky part of match. According to me, umpires should visit ground prior to match and have a light-o-meter to take te of light. This will also help umpires asses wher y are having trouble in seeing ball under lights," K Hariharan said.

Sachin Tendulkar cites dew as a significant factor
Earlier, cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar had also cited dew concerns for historic day-night test match between India and Bangladesh. Tendulkar had said that as long as dew does t become an important factor, day-night test will be good but if does become a factor n seamers as well as spinners are going to find it challenging.

Huge step forward: Ganguly
In a BCCI statement earlier, Ganguly had said, “I’m pleased to anunce that our long-term partner BCB has graciously agreed to play a Day-Night Test match. This is beginning of something special in Indian cricket. It is a priority for newly elected Office Bearers and members of Apex Council to take Indian cricket forward. For me, as former Captain of India and as current President of BCCI, Test cricket is of utmost priority and we at BCCI will leave stone unturned to bring this format back to its feet.
