"Important to see how pink ball behaves under lights"
Veteran umpire K Hariharan while speaking to ANI on Friday said, "It won't make much of a difference. However, it will be interesting to see how the pink ball will behave under the lights, whether it will maintain its shine or not, otherwise it would just be another regular Test game for umpires." He added, "We do not know how the pink ball will behave under floodlights, with the dew coming into play, the ball might not swing much and that might be a concern for the umpires."
While reflecting upon what the thought process of the umpires should have during the day/night Test. "As I said, the twilights part would be the most tricky part of the match. According to me, the umpires should visit the ground prior to the match and have a light-o-meter to take note of the light. This will also help the umpires asses whether they are having trouble in seeing the ball under lights," K Hariharan said.

Sachin Tendulkar cites dew as a significant factor
Earlier, cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar had also cited dew concerns for the historic day-night test match between India and Bangladesh. Tendulkar had said that as long as dew does not become an important factor, the day-night test will be good but if does become a factor then the seamers as well as spinners are going to find it challenging.

Huge step forward: Ganguly
In a BCCI statement earlier, Ganguly had said, “I’m pleased to announce that our long-term partner BCB has graciously agreed to play a Day-Night Test match. This is the beginning of something special in Indian cricket. It is a priority for the newly elected Office Bearers and members of Apex Council to take Indian cricket forward. For me, as former Captain of India and as the current President of BCCI, Test cricket is of utmost priority and we at BCCI will leave no stone unturned to bring this format back to its feet.
