Indian cricket team batter Shubman Gill's woes with the bat during the current West Indies tour continued as he was dismissed for yet another low score in the third T20I. Apart from his 85-run knock in the third ODI against the 'Men in Maroon', Gill has looked totally out of colour on the current Windies tour, which is not a good sign for the Indian team ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023.
3 things you need to know
- Gill recently achieved his career-best ODI ranking and as of now holds the fifth spot in the ICC Men's ODI Rankings
- Shubman Gill has scored a total of 16 runs in the first three IND vs WI T20Is

Shubman Gill was the leading run scorer in the Indian Premier League 2023 and scored a total of 890 runs from 17 games for the Gujarat Titans. Gill has a fantastic record in Ahmedabad and scored an IPL century against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Gill played an innings off 101 runs off 58 balls at a strike rate of 174.13 which included 13 fours and one six. The 16th edition of the cash-rich league was Shubman's best season with the bat and he was also the highest scorer and won the coveted 'orange cap'.

Apart from his hundred in Ahmedabad, Shubman Gill also scored his second Test hundred at the same ground against Australia in March 2023. The Gujarat Titans opener while playing an ODI for India in January 2023 scored 123* runs against the Kiwis .
Shubman Gill's lean patch at other venues
Shubman Gill went into the World Test Championship 2023 final against Australia after a fantastic IPL 2023. The Indian team fans were expecting a big score from the young right-handed batter, however, Gill disappointed with his performance in both innings of the match played at the Kennington Oval in London. Shubman came up with scores of 13 and 18 runs in both innings of the match and also was dismissed cheaply. Gill's problems with the bat didn't stop here, and the Indian opener got out cheaply in the three innings of the two-match Test series against West Indies.

Shubman Gill was once again dismissed for seven and 34 runs in the first two ODIs against the West Indies, however, he bounced back with an 85-run knock in the third and the final match of the series. Gill is an important player for the Indian cricket team going into the the ODI World Cup 2023 and will be the first choice of the team management to open with skipper Rohit Sharma. With two matches left in the West Indies tour, the right-handed batter will like to score big in Lauderhill in the remaining two T20Is of the series and carry the same confidence in the Asia Cup 2023.
