Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) fast bowler Harshit Rana brought a touch of flair and nostalgia to the 2024 Duleep Trophy on Thursday by reviving his signature flying-kiss celebration. The moment came during a high-stakes clash between India C and India D, where Harshit made an impact with the ball, dismissing India C captain Ruturaj Gaikwad for just 5 runs off 19 balls in the second innings.

The wicket fell on the final ball of the fifth over, and as soon as Harshit Rana sent Gaikwad back to the pavilion, he celebrated with his familiar flying kiss. However, there was a twist this time around. Unlike the IPL 2024 incident where his flying kiss was aimed at a dismissed batter, Harshit directed his celebration towards the dressing room, suggesting that it was more of a light-hearted moment shared with his teammates rather than a pointed message to the opposition.

What Happened in IPL 2024?

Harshit Rana first made headlines for this particular celebration earlier this year in the IPL , during a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 23 at Eden Gardens. After dismissing SRH opener Mayank Agarwal, Harshit blew a flying kiss at the departing batter, a gesture that stirred quite a bit of discussion and even criticism for its perceived lack of sportsmanship. The incident became one of the more memorable moments of the IPL season, adding some extra drama to the KKR-SRH rivalry.

Harshit Rana was even handed a one-match ban for his flying kiss celebration in the IPL . However, Harshit’s celebration in the Duleep Trophy appears to be in a more playful spirit, indicating the pacer’s ability to have fun while still maintaining his competitive edge.

His fiery bowling spell against India C and his subsequent celebration with the dressing room suggest that the pacer is enjoying his time in the tournament, while also continuing to make a name for himself with both his skills and his on-field antics.
