KL Rahul has set the cricketing world abuzz with a cryptic response that has reignited speculation about his return to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) ahead of the 2025 Indian Premier League ( IPL ). During a recent fan interaction, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper was asked about the ongoing rumors linking him to his former franchise, RCB. His response, though brief, was enough to send fans into a frenzy.

The interaction took place when a die-hard RCB fan expressed their hopes of seeing the Indian batter back in RCB colors. “I am a die-hard RCB fan. I am following RCB since very long, and you played for RCB in the past. Now, with the rumors... I won’t say anything. But yeah, I am just wishing and praying that you come to RCB and rock here,” the fan said enthusiastically.

KL Rahul 's connection to RCB dates back to 2013, when he made his IPL debut with the franchise. After spending a few seasons with the team, including an impactful stint in 2016, where he scored 397 runs at a strike rate of 146, he eventually moved on to other franchises, including Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings ) and, more recently, Lucknow Super Giants . However, his potential return to the Bengaluru-based team has been a constant subject of rumors, especially as RCB continues to seek a new leader for their squad.

The Possibility of Rahul Reuniting with RCB

The possibility of KL Rahul rejoining RCB has been gaining traction especially after his alleged rift with LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka during the previous edition of the IPL . RCB is reportedly looking for a new captain for the upcoming season with Faf du Plessis said to be stepping down because of his age.
