MSK Prasad, the chief selector of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has made hints that Rohit Sharma can be accommodated into the Indian Test team playing XI. As KL Rahul’s performance was not satisfying in previous matches, Rohit Sharma could be used as an opener for the five-day test format. India ODI vice-captain Rohit Sharma has been in sublime form, but still, he sat out of the Two-Test series against West Indies. He usually played in Tests as a middle-order batsman. But after good batting from Ajinkya Rahane and Hanuma Vihari against West Indies, Rohit will most likely play as an opener, but he has excelled in this position in the shorter formats.
MSK Prasad Opens Up About KL Rahul
MSK Prasad, a former wicket-keeper, says that he and the selection committee are planning on taking Rohit Sharma as an opener for upcoming test series that India will be playing ahead. KL Rahul is a great talent but still due to his poor performance in the previous matches has led them to this decision, he said. MSK Prasad has mentioned this that the selection committee has not yet come to any conclusion. But they might consider Rohit Sharma because of KL Rahul’s performance. KL Rahul is going through a tough time and needs some time to regain his form.

MSK Prasad has also mentioned that they are also working on the spin bowling department and are trying a few youngsters keeping the view of T20 World Cup in Australia. Chahal and Kuldeep are known for their outstanding performances in the last two years and are definitely ahead of all in the race. The selection process is just to try on some new options in the match.

He also mentioned about the team that could play the series ahead. The team will include Shreyas Iyer, one of the emerging batsmen and who is known for playing according to the situation and demand of the team and deliver his performance accordingly. Other team players are Navdeep Saini, Krunal Pandya, and Washington Sundar who also have satisfactory records in shorter formats. Other players with excellent long format records are Hanuma Vihari, for his batting skills and Bumrah for his amazing bowling skills. Ajinkya Rahane is the important addition to the Indian Cricket Team for its success. The team will play under the captaincy of Virat Kohli.
