Kuldeep Yadav names England player who began worrying R Ashwin and him in Australia itself

Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav has been selected in India's 18-member squad for home Tests against England, scheduled to commence from Friday, February 2 onwards.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently selected Kuldeep Yav in ir 18-member squ for upcoming home Test series against England. left-arm spinner was also a part of India’s touring squron that won series in Australia, however, he was t included in playing XI in any of four matches. Moreover, last time Kuldeep Yav played Test cricket for India was way back in 2018 at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) where he picked a five-fer to star in India’s maiden series win Down Under.

India vs England: Kuldeep Yav kept discussing with R Ashwin about combating Joe Root  

Kuldeep Yav recently interacted with ESPNCricinfo. In interview, he said that he h many “good discussions” with senior teammate Ravichandran Ashwin (R Ashwin) during Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in Australia. Yav claimed that veteran off-spinner helped him in making game plans and in doing so, gave him quite a few ideas.

Kuldeep Yav also revealed that y even discussed about India’s home series against England in Australia itself. Considering England skipper Joe Root’s sublime form with bat in Sri Lanka, two spinners talked about how to bowl at prolific batsman. As per interview, Yav extensively learned about which areas to bowl and which fielders should be close while bowling at Root.

Kuldeep Yav praised Joe Root by saying that right-handed batsman has “time to play his shots” and is someone who plays spin well off his back foot. Yav also seems to be wary of or English batters like Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes. He said that Buttler’s strength is to dominate bowlers while star all-rounder Stokes likes keeping his opposition under pressure at all times.
