IND vs AUS: Kuldeep Yadav picks up his 100th ODI wicket to trigger batting-order collapse

India put up a mammoth total of 340 for the visitors to chase and the Aussies looked comfortable until Kuldeep Yadav brought his magic fingers into play

After a humiliating defeat in first ODI against Australia, India looked determined to level three-match series in second ODI at Rajkot. Indian side put up a mammoth total of 340 for visitors to chase and Aussies looked comfortable until Kuldeep Yadav brought his magic fingers into play. Yadav scalped wicket of Alex Carey first to register his 100th ODI wicket.

Following Carey's wicket, Yadav n dismissed Steve Smith just three two deliveries later to help India get back in game. Yadav's googly deprived Steve Smith of a much-deserving century as he was dismissed on 98. Smith's wicket n triggered collapse of Australian batting line-up. Yadav is w third-fastest player along with Imran Tahir to breach 100-ODI wickets mark. Chinaman took 58 innings to achieve feat.

Pandey's one-handed stunner

Indian pacer Mohammad Shami helped India grab first wicket of second innings by sending David Warner back to pavilion. However, without Manish Pandey's moment of brilliance in field, it wouldn't have been possible to dismiss ace Australian batsman. Pandey's aerobatic one-handed catch at cover point ensured that Indian side get rid of in-form Warner early in innings.

Dhawan misses out on a well-deserved ton 

Dhawan started off well after Men In Blue were once again asked to bat by Australian skipper Aaron Finch. Both Dhawan and Rohit Sharma added 81 runs for opening wicket before Sharma was trapped plumb in front of wicket by Adam Zampa for 42. southpaw n continued to keep scoreboard ticking along with skipper Virat Kohli as duo added more than 50 runs for second-wicket stand as opener registered his 29th half-century in 50-overs format.

He continued to take bowlers to cleaners and raced away into 90s in time. left-hander played a spectacular cover drive off Kane Richardson to bring up 100-run stand with Kohli for second wicket. However, Richardson had last laugh on following delivery when he accounted for opening batsman.
