Agni Chopra Takes Ranji Trophy By Storm

Son of Bollywood producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Agni Chopra has taken a different route than many other children of Bollywood stars. Representing Mizoram in the Ranji Trophy, the batter has emerged as a revelation in the 2023-24 season. He has scored tons of runs throughout the last season and has incepted the 2024-25 season on an outstanding note. Against Arunachal, he looked in the peak of his powers, scoring 110 in the first innings and an unbeaten 238* in the second. Him amassing momentous figures ascertained Mizoram 's victory by a massive 267 runs over Arunachal Pradesh . Agni Chopra was adjudged with the man of the match award for his superlative performance.

The double ton went down as Agni Chopra's 7th century in the last 10 months. He has started the fresh season in the same way he left the last.

Roots Set in Bollywood, But Decides To Pursue Passion

Agni Chopra's father, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, is an established producer/director in Bollywood. He has produced one of the biggest blockbusters in the history of Bollywood, 3 Idiots. Moreover, was the producer and director of the critically acclaimed "12th Fail" which was released in 2023. His mother Anupama Chopra is also a well-known figure in the industry. Despite having roots set in Bollywood, Agni decided to pursue his passion.

“So I have been asked this question from childhood that will you go into movies but I never thought I would ever be in movies,” Agni told news agency PTI in an interview. “I never thought that, ‘oh, I should get in because my dad makes movies and it will be an easy avenue for me’. I was never interested in movies. I mean I love watching movies and have a great time but it was never my passion.”
