Rishabh Pant has once again shown his incredible sports ethic and proven himself as one of the most valuable players in the Indian Cricket team. The Southpaw batter suffered a horrific life-threatening Car accident in Dec 2022 and was away from the field for almost a year as he was being recovered. He made his comeback to competitive cricket in IPL 2024 before the victory in the T20 World Cup . Pant recently was the part of Duleep trophy but unfortunately was not given a chance to captain the team and played under Abhimanyu Easwaran's captaincy. However, Pant's terrific performance during two tests against New Zealand and Bangladesh made him the most valuable player in the Indian Cricket team. Former Indian Cricketer Aakash Chopra praised the Indian Wicketkeeper-Batter and put his opinion on Pant not being named as Captain in the Duleep trophy.

When the Duleep Trophy teams were picked, Rishabh Pant was selected, but Abhimanyu Easwaran was the captain of that team. Pant featured as a player but not a captain in that tournament. We were left wondering if he is no longer a captaincy candidate," said the former cricketer on a You Tube channel.

"But now that home season is over, we suddenly feel he is the captain, he is the savior, our crisis man, one who can even play in poor batting conditions. He is the only one who can play with dominance, playing with so much confidence, he can hit sixes and has the defensive game.

"So was Pant misjudged? I mean, he was not named as a captain in the Duleep Trophy, and now he is the most valuable Indian player in Test cricket, or even across the globe." he further added.

Akash Chopra also puts his opinion on how he sees Pant's credibility in Test format by saying, "I believe he is the most valuable player in modern-day Test cricket. Not just in India, but across the world. Let’s forget Bazball, that’s all talk. Look at the consistency with which Rishabh Pant is playing. He is adding so much value to Test cricket with the way he is entertaining the fans. I think he will define this generation in Test cricket," concluded Chopra.
