Indian skipper Virat Kohli has urged all citizens of country to stay united after a few international celebrities with vested interests attempted to target India over farmer protests.
Controversy erupted after pop star Rihanna's tweet supporting Indian farmers who have been protesting for over two months against three contentious agri laws, though ir stances ranged from incorrect to hyperbolic.

Taking to micro-blogging site, Kohli urged one and all to stay united in this hour of disagreements. Highlighting importance of farmers in everyone's lives, batting megastar went on to say that y are an integral part of our country and at same time, Kohli also hoped that an amicable solution will be found between all parties to bring about peace and y all can move forward toger.

MEA cautions foreign celebrities
In a strongly-worded statement, MEA made it clear that farm reforms were enacted by Parliament after a full debate and discussion. Maintaining that only a very small section of farmers have reservations about se laws, it mentioned that Centre has t only conducted 11 rounds of talks with farm unions but also offered to keep implementation of laws on hold. MEA lamented that "vested groups" were trying to derail protests despite this scenario.

To buttress its point, it highlighted violence that took place in national capital during farmers' tractor rally. Moreover, Ministry linked desecration of Mahatma Gandhi statues in different parts of world to instigation by fringe elements seeking to mobilize international support against India. reafter, it called upon foreign entities and individuals to ascertain facts before "rushing to comment" on such matters.
"We would like to emphasize that se protests must be seen in context of India's democratic ethos and polity, and efforts of government and concerned farmer groups to resolve impasse," statement said.

After External Ministry's official statement, many Indian celebrities and politicians spoke out against unwarranted statements made by Western artists such as Rihanna, urging nation to stay united amid attempts to divide.
Centre has so far held 11 rounds of talks with protesting farmers, with top court of country forming a panel to encour furr talks on reforms. Moreover, just days ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended an olive branch to community, assuring that he was only one-call away if y wanted to hold any furr discussions on three Farm Laws.
