After securing victories in the Test and ODI series against the West Indies, India faced a significant setback by losing the five-match T20I series 2-3. Despite making a comeback from an initial 0-2 deficit with two consecutive wins, the Indian team couldn't clinch the series decider. The West Indies showcased strong bowling and composed batting performances to claim the series triumph in Florida by 8 wickets.

Irfan Pathan slams Team India's poor performance against West Indies
Former Indian all-rounder, Irfan Pathan, extended his congratulations to the West Indies team for their well-deserved series win. Additionally, he urged the Indian management to deeply analyze this loss to a lower-ranked opponent, recognizing the concerning nature of such a defeat. Irfan shared his thoughts on his official handle on X, formerly known as Twitter.
In the match, India chose to bat after winning the toss, but their young opening batsmen fell quickly. Suryakumar Yadav played an exceptional knock, scoring 61 off 45 balls, contributing to India's total of 165/9 in 20 overs. Although Tilak Varma displayed promise with a brisk 27 off 18 balls, he couldn't capitalize on the start.

West Indies bowler Romario Shepherd stood out, claiming four wickets, while Jason Holder and Akeal Hosein secured two wickets each. In response, Brandon King, who had been relatively subdued throughout the series, showcased his prowess with an unbeaten 85 off 55 balls. Nicholas Pooran, also in good form, contributed with a lively 47 off 35 balls.

Their efforts guided the West Indies to an eight-wicket victory with two overs to spare. This is the first time India lost a T20I series against the West Indies since 2016. The Indian men's cricket team will next be seen in action during a three-match T20I series against Ireland. Jasprit Bumrah will lead the side in the absence of Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya.
