Lt Col MS Dhoni's stint with 106th battalion of Territorial Army ends, cricketer reunites with family in New Delhi: Sources

Lieutenant Colonel Mahendra Singh Dhoni's stint with the 106th battalion of the Territorial Army came to an end as on August 15, after the former skipper included himself in the Armed Forces training from the end of last month for fifteen days.

former Indian skipper returned to New Delhi and is with his wife Sakshi and daughter Ziva, according to sources.

Lt Col MS Dhoni visits Lakh on Independence Day

Lieutenant Colonel MS Dhoni joined Indian Army troops in south Kashmir region earlier in July in order to carry out patrolling, guard duties and similar responsibilities just like or brave soldiers of country. During his visit to Lakh on Independence Day, sources suggest that Dhoni will also be visiting Siachen War Memorial to pay tribute and respects to martyrs of Indian freedom struggle.

Siachen Glacier is located in eastern Karakoram range in Himalayas and is second-longest glacier in region where Line of Control between India and Pakistan ends.

38-year-old visited Leh on August 12th and participated in training re. He also visited Army Goodwill School, Bhudkut where he interacted with students. During his training, former skipper is said to have learned about patrolling, ammunition lessons and weapon firing. Dhoni was also reportedly taught about how to target an enemy and how to escape from becoming a target.

MS Dhoni's passion for Army

MS Dhoni formally joined para regiment on July 31. MS Dhoni h earlier anunced that he would be unavailable for upcoming Windies trip and would serve Indian Army. Confirming his request, Indian Army Hequarters on Thursday said that he will be stationed with Victor Force in Kashmir Valley and will be taking up patrolling, guard and post duty. y furr informed that MS Dhoni who holds a Lieutenant Colonel (Horary) shall be staying with troops.

Mahi is a part of Indian territorial army's 106th Battalion (para). World Cup 2011 winning skipper is a part of TA's 106th Infantry Battalion and was awarded horary rank of  Lieutenant Colonel in 2011.   veteran wicket-keeper batsman h also trained with para regiment after he was given horary rank in 2011 in Agra and has completed five parachute jumps.
