18th edition of Vijay Hazare Trophy started this week, and it also marked launch of limited-overs matches for ongoing Indian cricket domestic season. 2019-20 Indian domestic season, which started with Duleep Trophy in August, will w move ahead with India’s premier One-Day domestic tournament that involves teams from Ranji Trophy. Three-time winners and reigning champions, Mumbai won previous edition in 2018-19 by defeating Delhi in final. ongoing edition will also see Chandigarh making ir Vijay Hazare tournament debut.

Maharashtra One-Day unit enjoyed a prolific run in league st of previous edition. y went on to win six matches out of ir eight Group A games and ended up in second place behind Ranji-veterans Mumbai. ir run was however derailed in quarter-final by Jharkhand, who won kckout game by eight wickets. Maharashtra will be looking to improve ir previous outing by crossing line in kckouts. y started ir 2019 campaign against Himachal on opening day of tournament, however, that game was called-off without a single ball bowled.

Uttar Pradesh
Uttar Pradesh had a forgettable outing in 2018, winning only one game out of ir eight matches. With ir lacklustre performance, y ended ir Group B campaign eighth on points table. Samarth Singh-led side will be looking for a much-improved performance from last year if y want to entertain any chances of qualifying for quarter-finals. However, just like Maharashtra, ir 2019 campaign opener was also abandoned after 20.3 overs.
