Deepak Chahar has grabbed the entire attention of the Indian fans with his record-breaking figures of 6-7 in the third T20 against Bangladesh on Sunday. Deepak Chahar, playing only 7th T20I, picked up the wickets of Liton Das and Soumya Sarkar in his first over, which put the brakes on Bangladesh’s chase. He returned to bowl his second in the 13th over, picking up the wicket of Mohammad Mithun, thus ending a 98-run stand. The Rajasthan bowler came back at the death, picking up the first-ever hat-trick by an Indian in T20Is en-route recording the best ever figures in T20I cricket. Earlier, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul led India’s charge helping them reach 174/5, which in the end proved too much for Bangladesh after Deepak Chahar’s brilliance.

"Yes I am surprisingly very happy and in fact, the entire family is extremely happy. But more than him becoming the first Indian to get a hattrick in 20/20 internationals and getting the best-ever figures of six for seven runs, I am elated that he has become an asset for the team bowling at crucial times including death overs. I am very happy to see Deepak bowling with variations with a lively pace, off-cutter, leg cutters, slow bouncers, knuckleballs, out-swingers, and in-swinging yorkers -- in short every variety needed to excel at the top level," Chahar senior told Republic TV in an exclusive video chat.
