West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has expressed displeasure over BCCI President Sourav Ganguly's decision to call off India-South Africa ODI series without having 'a word' with her. After first match at Dharamshala was dismissed due to rain, remaining ODIs in Luckw and Kolkata were called off on Friday in view of vel Coronavirus outbreak.
West Bengal CM stated that since match was scheduled to be held in Kolkata, Kolkata Police should have been informed at least adding that y (BCCI) should have told us a word, thing else. As reported by news daily, Banerjee questioned BCCI for informing state after making decision to call off ODI series. She also expressed that neir chief state secretary, home secretary, police commissioner, or anyone else in government was informed.

As a result of COVID-19 outbreak, BCCI also postponed upcoming IPL edition to April 15 instead of March 29, to avoid any mass garing while England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Friday confirmed that England's tour of Sri Lanka has been called off. confirmation comes after Corona-affected cases emerged in island nation.

'IPL will happen'
Speaking to media after IPL Governing Council meeting on Saturday, Sourav Ganguly assured that Indian Premier League would take place after April 15 and that it will be truncated due to delayed start. Sourav Ganguly said that safety of players was kept in minds while taking a call and hence all domestic games have been postponed.

Sourav Ganguly insisted that tournament had been postponed for moment to April and that franchise owners had been informed of how league can function in future and what steps were taken by Board. decisions would be reassessed every week, said Sourav Ganguly adding that safety of players was of utmost importance.

BCCI along with all IPL franchises have reiterated BCCI’s stand of putting safety and well-being of fans, athletes and employees as a priority. board will continue to monitor and work closely with Government of India, state governments and or state regulatory bodies to decide on future course of action in best interest of public health.
