On Monday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee congratulated former Indian captain and Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Sourav Ganguly for being elected as President of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Recalling his rich contribution to Bengal and India, she also expressed her satisfaction with his performance as CAB Chief. reafter, Banerjee wished him good luck for this assignment.

He said, "Obviously, it's a great feeling as I have played for country and captained country." former Indian skipper ded, "And I am taking over at a time when BCCI has t been in greatest of position for last three years. Its im has got hampered quite a lot. It's a great opportunity for me to do something good."

'Will speak to everyone'

He also revealed his intention of taking everyone on board and striving for welfare of first-class cricketers.

"We will speak to everyone first as we take a decision but my biggest priority will be to look after first-class cricketers. I h requested that to CoA for three years and y didn't listen. That's first thing I will do, look after financial health of our first-class cricketers," Ganguly opined.
