Manjrekar Revels Harshit Rana’s Inclusion In India BGT Squad, Says Pacer ‘Good Pick For Australia'

Harshit Rana, quick pacer for Kolkata Knight Riders , has been called up for his first Test match for Team India. fact that talented Indian pacer may make his debut while in Australia against WTC Champions ds to event's significance. With Mohammed Shami being left off roster as he heals from his injury, Rana finds a spot and has a chance to showcase his prowess. After making waves for Knight Riders during IPL 2024 season, Harshit Rana has an opportunity to shine. Rana's Inclusion in India's BGT squ has garnered praise from a former India batter.

Sanjay Manjrekar Delighted For Harshit Rana After Selection in India's BGT Squ vs Australia 

While speaking to Star Sports, Sanjay Manjrekar appreciated BCCI's call to name star pacer Harshit Rana. He shined for KKR and also delivered a spectacular outing in Ranji Trophy tournament. Manjrekar feels that pacer will be a good pick for series down under against Australia, where Men in Blue will be defending ir title.  

"That tends to happen. If you look at every tour that India has been overseas, you would have one player who is playing one of his first Test matches or on his first tour as well, and that happens to all teams.

"Very rarely do you get se days four or five bowlers with all of m having a lot of experience. However, I like Harshit Rana, whatever we have seen of him. I think Harshit Rana is a good pick for Australia," former India batter said.

Harshit Rana is among list of called-up players who will be a part of historic Test series against Australia. Apart from pacer, Abhimanyu Easwaran and Nitish Kumar Reddy have also received call-ups to be a part of main squ. Rana continues to make waves after his test selection in Ranji Trophy match after he finished with figure of 5/80, which aided Delhi to bowl out Assam at 330 runs. Rana also secured his half-century in game, showing his all-around development.
