MCA seeks Pawar's advice on conducting AGM and cricket resumption

Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has sought NCP chief Sharad Pawar's advice on conducting its AGM amid COVID-19 pandemic and resumption of game in city. Pawar is a former chief of MCA, BCCI and ICC and his party is also part of present Maharashtra government led by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. A senior MCA official told PTI on Monday that meeting with Pawar took place over two days.
MCA seeks Pawar's advice
"We met Pawar saheb as we have to conduct AGM. If we maintain social distancing rules, we could get permission to conduct it and n it would be good," official said.
MCA has over 300 members. Recently, it had also issued a circular to its members urging m to give ir consent to Apex Council to form Cricket Improvement Committee, which makes all game-related appointments. As per MCA Constitution, it is AGM, which appoints CIC. Ar official said that Pawar told delegation that he would speak with Chief Minister on issues faced by MCA.

Cricket in Mumbai has come to a standstill since March due to health crisis. Mumbai is one of worst-hit Indian cities by COVID-19 pandemic. Or issues like pending rent of University ground and neighbouring Wankhede Stadium were also discussed. In meeting, MCA was represented by President Vijay Patil, Secretary Sanjay Naik, Joint Secretary Shahalam Shaikh and CEO CS Naik.
