English batter Harry Brook played a knock of 85 runs off 91 balls and hit 11 fours and two sixes during his innings. No batsman other than Brook was able to stay at the crease for long and Aussie bowler Mitchell Starc broke the backbone of England's batting lineup.

Michael Vaughan compares Harry Brook with Kevin Pietersen
Former English cricket team captain Michael Vaughan has praised the batsman Harry Brook and feels that he is a real talent. Vaughan, while speaking on Cricbuzz, compared IPL 2023's first centurion Brook with ex-English batter Kevin Pietersen and feels that is probably the closest he has seen to Pietersen. Vaughan said:
Harry Brook is a player, He is a real talent and is probably the closest I have seen to Kevin Pietersen in England jersey. He has got that gift to make quality bowlers not look quality, he can punch that length ball, he can get away and smack it through the off side, he gets inside the pull shot, and also has good balance to move on both sides of the wicket.

Michael Vaughan praises Kevin Pietersen
During the chat, Michael Vaughan also praised his former teammate Kevin Pietersen and feels that he was the best player Vaughan has played with. The former English skipper said:
Pietersen, he was the best I played with as he could put McGrath, Warne, Muralitharan, Steyn, Harbhajan Singh, and Anil Kumble all under pressure.
Michael Vaughan added
In Harry Brook, I have seen that he can put pressure on the likes of Starc, Cummins, and Hazlewood with a bit of counterpunch. I feel that he is going to be around for a long time and we are going to see a lot of his counterpunch innings. I like watching players like that.
The English cricket team will now aim to level the Ashes 2023 by winning the fifth match being played at the Kennington Oval ground in London. After the Manchester Test ended in a draw, the World Test champions retained the coveted 'urn' for the fourth consecutive time.
