Shami's recent performances have been so good that he has earned applause t only from Indian cricketers and pundits but also from opposition players. Recently, South African captain Faf du Plessis said younger players could learn from Indian fast bowler. He said, "re's a huge intensity about his bowling. You are going to bowl short spells in heat but when you bowl you have to ensure that you bowl with a lot of intensity and maximize it. re is, in fact, a lot to learn from lengths he bowled. He's a guy that hits stumps a lot. That's something from a bowling point of view, we have to make sure, we are better at. In first innings especially, we bowled wide and refore y scored frequently square of wicket. So re are a lot of lessons to learn."
