MS Dhoni's text convinced CSK CEO to hold training camp in Chennai ahead of IPL 2020

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) CEO Kasi Viswanathan revealed that their five-day training camp in Chennai was conducted after captain MS Dhoni's insistence.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are one of most successful franchises in Indian Premier League (IPL) history, having won three titles so far. Much of CSK's success could be attributed to ir MS Dhoni, who has led outfit brilliantly with his astute captaincy skills. Ahead of IPL 2020, three-time champions were only team to hold a training camp in India, and CSK CEO has revealed that it was only on insistence of former India captain that session in Chennai was organised.

CSK CEO reveals MS Dhoni insisted on CSK training ahead of IPL 2020

Speaking in a video uploaded on three-time winners' YouTube channel, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan spoke about how captain MS Dhoni convinced him to go ahead with camp. CSK CEO said that he had doubts about conducting a training session in country after IPL 2020 was anunced. Viswanathan said that he talked to former Indian skipper asking wher CSK training camp was necessary as a bio-bubble had to be created amidst COVID-19 pandemic.

However, CSK CEO reveals that MS Dhoni was very clear in his mess and said that a lot of players in squad had t played cricket in four-five months. MS furr stated that entire team needs to get used to bio-bubble environment tin Chennai before travelling to UAE for IPL 2020.  CSK CEO added that though he had reservations of scheduling camp, it has massively helped players getting in shape ahead of IPL 2020.

MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina reported to CSK training, while likes of Ambati Rayudu, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, and Murali Vijay also attended five-day camp. Rayudu said that CSK training camp was crucial as it helped m get back in mix before going to Dubai, where y will enter quarantine for ar six days. Deepak Chahar added that camp brought everyone on same p having t played cricket for over five months and experience will help m throughout tournament. Veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh and Ravindra Jadeja missed camp due to personal reasons.
