Defending champions Jozi Stars will begin their campaign on November 8 against Cape Town Blitz. South African Test cricketer Temba Bavuma will be leading the team in their title defence. In a rare occurrence, Gayle and Rabada will be playing together for the first time in a T20 tournament. Gayle, however, will be leaving the side after playing their sixth game at the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. The game is scheduled to be held on November 24. Jozi Stars will then be enjoying a one-week break before they resume their title defence with a match against Paarl Rocks on December 1. That will be their seventh game of the tournament where Shoaib Malik will finally make his debut in the South African T20 event, replacing West Indies' Gayle.
