Netizens had just one question as the selection panel met newly elected BCCI President Sourav Ganguly to select the squad for the upcoming tour of Bangladesh - "Where is Ravi Shastri?" Senior selectors MSK Prasad along with other selectors, Indian captain Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma met Sourav Ganguly at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai on Thursday. As BCCI took to Twitter to post a picture of the selection panel with Sourav Ganguly, fans pointed out that head coach Ravi Shastri was missing from the frame and a few of them took to question his absence from the meeting. Some fans went on to suggest that the picture was taken by Ravi Shastri himself, thus explaining his absence from the frame.

Rohit Sharma to lead T20 side against Bangladesh

Virat Kohli will be rested for the upcoming T20 series against Bangladesh while Rohit Sharma will don the captain's hat, announced chief selector MSK Prasad on Thursday. The Test and T20 squads for the upcoming tour of Bangladesh was picked after the newly elected BCCI President Sourav Ganguly met the selectors on Thursday following which the team was picked. Sanju Samson reaped his rewards for a dominating and consistent performance in the domestic tourney as he has been named in the T20 squad alongside Shivam Dube. The T20 side, led by Rohit Sharma is a younger squad comprising of just three or four senior players. The Test squad, on the other hand, saw just one new inclusion from their previous series. Youngster Shubman Gill has earned his maiden call-up to the national side for the longer format of the game after proving himself in the India A matches.
