New Zealand have NOT offered to host IPL 2020: NZC spokesperson trashes false reports
Richard Boock, the spokesperson of New Zealand Cricket, has denied reports that claimed the country had offered to host the IPL 2020 edition.

A few days ago, multiple Indian media reports claimed that New Zealand h become latest country to offer to host IPL 2020 edition. news of New Zealand offering to host IPL 2020 edition came after United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Sri Lanka h also expressed ir interest in hosting cash-rich league. However, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has w termed news as 'speculation', clarifying that y have t offered to host IPL 2020.

New Zealand Cricket issues clarification
New Zealand Cricket (NZC) spokesperson Richard Boock revealed on Thursday that cricket board has t expressed any interest in hosting IPL. Boock told Rio New Zealand that report of New Zealand offering to host IPL 2020 is simply 'speculation'. He also said that NZC has t offered to host IPL r have y me any approach for same.
clarification by New Zealand Cricket board is completely opposite of what a BCCI official said recently, wherein he h stated that New Zealand was third country that h offered to host IPL 2020. However, official wasn’t named in any of press reports, confirming development.

IPL is first priority: Sourav Ganguly

IPL 2020, which was scheduled to begin in March this year, was earlier postponed indefinitely due to coronavirus situation in India. Since n, re has been confirmation on when latest edition of Indian Premier League will be held. However, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly recently revealed that Asia Cup 2020 has been cancelled. Sourav Ganguly, while speaking to ‘Sports Tak’ in an Instagram live session, confirmed cancellation of Asia Cup 2020, which was scheduled to be held in month of September.

However, Sourav Ganguly also gave an update on IPL 2020 while speaking to India Today. BCCI President said that board doesn’t ideally want to finish 2020 without an IPL. Sourav Ganguly said that ir first priority when it comes to IPL 2020 is to hold it in India. former Indian captain said that even if y get 35-40 days, y’ll be able to hold tournament.
Sourav Ganguly also revealed that y will only look at options abro if it is t possible to hold IPL 2020 in India. He also revealed that once tournament goes overseas, it becomes expensive for both franchises as board. Ganguly said that conversion rate and currency exchange rate makes tournament expensive for everyone.

Several reports h earlier revealed that BCCI was waiting for ICC to confirm schedule of T20 World Cup before going ahe with IPL 2020 plans. BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal h also confirmed earlier that y were waiting for clarification on T20 World Cup plans. same has w been confirmed by Sourav Ganguly as he said that he doesn’t kw when T20 World Cup will take place.
