Nathan Lyon is my idol: Baisoya
Baisoya ended with figures of 21-10-51-10, bowling Nagaland out for a paltry 113. Meghalaya responded by finishing Day 1 on 109/4. The teenager, who hails from Meerut, moved to Meghalaya as an outstation player two years ago. He was coached by Sanjay Rastogi, who has also coached India seamers, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Praveen Kumar. Baisoya idolises Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon.
While speaking to a leading Indian media network, Baisoya said that earlier in the innings, the conditions favoured the bowlers and it just turned out to be a lucky day for him. He was glad that his team supported him and they made the most of the first hour of play. He added that after he picked up six wickets in the first session, he believed he could go for all the 10 wickets.

20 years ago, Indian legendary spinner Anil Kumble became only the 2nd bowler in history after England’s Jim Laker to grab all 10 wickets in an innings in an international Test match. Kumble achieved this rare milestone in the 2nd Test against Pakistan at the Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi, as India won the Test by 212 runs.
Debashish Mohanty, Subhash Gupte, Pradeep Sundaram and PM Chatterjee are others who have achieved this feat in Indian domestic cricket. Last year, Rex Singh, another teenager from Manipur, grabbed all 10 wickets in an innings in the U-19 tournament, Cooch Behar Trophy.
