Indian spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav had a day to forget during their ICC Cricket World Cup clash against the hosts England at the Edgbaston in Birmingham on Sunday. The duo gave away 160 runs in their combined 20 overs. Kuldeep finished with figures of 1/72 in his 10 overs while Chahal went wicketless in his 10 overs as he gave away 88 runs at an economy rate of 8.80.

Yuzi was not only the most expensive bowler of India in this contest, but he also ended up creating an unwanted record for himself due to this forgettable spell. The young wrist-spinner went past former pacer Javagal Srinath to become the most expensive Indian bowler in World Cup history. Srinath's forgettable performance had come against Australia in the 2003 World Cup final where he had given away 87 runs in his 10 overs at an economy rate of 8.70. The veteran fast bowler was unsuccessful in picking up a wicket on that fateful day.

Chahal's failure during one of the most anticipated games did not go down well on social media.

As the spin twins had an off day, England were able to get to a huge total of 337/7 in their 50 overs. Jonny Bairstow top-scored for the hosts with a 109-ball 111. India will have to chase 338 in order to seal a semifinal berth.
