'Not Possible': Rohit Sharma Hits Back At Virat Kohli's and His Critics For Missing Duleep Trophy
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are all set to play Test cricket together for the first time in 2024. Virat Kohli missed the England series earlier this year
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have shouldered Indian cricket for over a decade now. The duo recently bowed out of T20 Cricket as world champions and will continue to play just Tests and ODIs for India now. Kohli and Rohit had been on the road constantly till the Sri Lanka series. Rohit had also played the India vs England Test series earlier this year, before the IPL and the T20 World Cup . There is a lot of workload on both Rohit and Kohli and hence the BCCI constantly monitors it
Rohit Sharma 's Blunt Take On Player Rotation
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has set up a player rotational policy in which the cricketers get breaks in order to manage their injuries and keep themselves fit. This is mostly done for the senior players who play all the three formats. The Indian cricket team does play a lot of matches in one calendar year along with the Indian Premier League ( IPL ) that spans across two months in the March-May window.

The Bangladesh series is one of its kind and will see stalwarts like Virat Kohli , Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah play again in the same eleven after India's tour to South Africa. India, in order to prepare for the Bangladesh series sent their top stars such as KL Rahul , Rishabh Pant , Kuldeep Yadav and others to the Duleep Trophy. Virat Kohli , Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah were exempted from it. Rohit had a very blunt reply to it.
'We will always have that in the back of our mind. You want your best players to play always but that is not possible. You need to manage your bowlers. We have laid down a plan how we are going to manage them. We will monitor their workload, we have done that pretty well so far. It all depends on how their body feels at that particular time. Considering these factors you take the call. We have a lot of bowlers, there were some great prospects in the Duleep Trophy as well.' said Rohit.
