Marnus Labuschagne opens up on his chances to play ODI World Cup 2023

Australian batter Marnus Labuschagne came into bat as a concussion substitute in place of all-rounder Cameron Green and took his team out of trouble in the first AUS vs SA ODI match. After Labuschagne continued his dream form with the bat in the second ODI match, the netizens praised him for the same and wanted him in the Aussie squad for the 2023 50-over World Cup. On being asked about his chances to make it to the Australian ODI World Cup 2023 squad, Labuschagne believed that playing the ODI World Cup is not in his hands. Marnus Labuschagne said after the SA vs AUS 2nd ODI:

It’s always nice, nice to score some runs and obviously to get this win. Yeah, I still think that I left a few runs there. I could have really opened up and get some more 30. But you have to be contented. Not just me, the boys out there.

The boys got a lightning start and even when we lost wickets, we managed to get up. It is not under my control [on World Cup non-selection]. I was having a word with Shamsi. My thing is to play my cricket. If I get to go home, I get to see my daughter, if I go to the World Cup, I get to play the World Cup.
