Sri Lanka will play their first match of the ODI World Cup in Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium. The team will look to be victorious in this match to successfully kick off their campaign.  SL will be playing 9 matches in the league and will be looking to book their spot in the semi-final of the tournament. However,  big guns like India, Australia, England, and New Zealand will try to limit them.

With a healthy blend of youth and experience, Sri Lanka's skipper, Dasun Shanaka, hopes to make a mark in the tournament. Senior players like Kusal Mendis, Dimuth Karunaratna, and Dhananjaya de Silva will be vital, as will Shanaka's leadership. At the international level, Pathum Nissanka, Charith Asalanka, and Dunith Wellalage are promising young players.
