Pakistan will be hosting Sri Lanka in a two-match Test series starting from December 11. first one will be played in Rawalpindi while second one will be held in Karachi. Meanwhile, Pakistan will be playing Test series at home against Sri Lanka for first time since 2009 i.e. over a decade. Ahead of Test series, governing body of world cricket International Cricket Council (ICC) posted an im of Pakistan Test skipper Azhar Ali and Sri Lankan captain Dimuth Karunaratne posing with trophy with a caption that read 'History Awaits'.

netizens came up with hilarious reactions after having gone through ICC's tweet. y highlighted 2009 Lahore attacks where Sri Lankan team bus was attacked by some gunmen while y were on ir way to Gaddafi Stadium which had ended up injuring a few players. At same time, y also urged Lankan players to stay safe.

An important series for Pakistan

Pakistan who had beaten Sri Lanka in ODI series were whitewashed by island nation in T20Is. y n had a forgettable tour Down Under where y suffered a complete whitewash after losing three-match T20I series and a drubbing in two-match Test series that followed. Pakistan, who are currently eighth-ranked side in ICC Test rankings will be hoping to salv pride in upcoming series.

Shoaib Akhtar on Pakistan cricket's downfall

Shoaib Akhtar reminded Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that country's cricket was heading towards a downfall

''It's t about Pakistan losing Test series, it's about what lies ahead. I have seen squash, hockey, soker, television, drama, film, etc. I have seen all se institutions end. Somehow, cricket was only institution left'', said Akhtar on his Youtube channel.
