Pat Cummins Devises Cricket Plan For McLaren's Star F1 Driver Oscar Piastri

Australia's World Cup winning captain Pat Cummins made a surprise appearance at Silverstone during the British Grand Prix 2024 to support fellow Aussie and McLaren's star Formula 1 driver Oscar Piastri. 

Oscar Piastri has in the past on many occasions made it clear that he is a massive fan of Australian cricket and celebrated the team's victory in 2023 ODI World Cup in some style. Piastri was understandably over the moon with Pat Cummins' surprise and took to social media for a special message. 

As both Australian sportsmen shared a fun exchange on social media on their British Grand Prix meet up, Australia's ODI and Test captain Pat Cummins devised how Oscar Piastri can make it work as a cricketer.

McLaren's F1 star Oscar Piastri took shared a picture of him and Pat Cummins at the British Grand Prix with the caption, “Bowling royalty meets part-time medium pacer”.

As Oscar Piastri was mocking his cricket skills in comparison to Pat Cummins' world class abilities but the Aussie skipper came out and gave Piastri words of encoragement. 

According to Pat Cummins, despite being a part time medium pacer, Oscar Piastri could end up causing trouble to batters on the right wicket. He further congratulated Oscar on a solid weekend.

“On the right wicket I think you’d be hard work though. Brilliant weekend,” replied Pat Cummins.

It could have been an awesome outing for Oscar Piastri at the British GP because at one stage he was driving P2 only behind his teammate Lando Norris. However, a botched McLaren pit stop meant Oscar Piastri had to settle for the P4 spot at Silverstone.
