PCB In Trouble Again, PSL Franchise Owners Frustrated With Cricket Board Over Mindless IPL Clash
PCB and controversies, that is a never-ending story. The PSL's next edition might clash with IPL 2024 and this has left the PSL owners unimpressed

The fight for supremacy in franchise cricket continues between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) continues. Though the BCCI is lightyears ahead of the PCB in every sense, the Pakistan Cricket Board time again comes out with plans to challenge the BCCI and falls flat on the face. Something similar is happening this time around too with the PCB trying to schedule the Pakistan Super League during a time when hardly there is any international cricket.
PSL Franchise Owners Unhappy With The PCB
In what is being seen as a very decision, the PCB plans to schedule the PSL when the Indian Premier League ( IPL ) is played. There is a huge difference between the IPL and the PSL. Top international stars play the IPL, whereas only a handful of overseas players and retired international players play the PSL.
As far as cricketing standards are concerned, the IPL is one of the toughest franchise leagues, if not the toughest. But as far as the PSL is concerned, it is nowhere close to the IPL . This is one point, that Kevin Pietersen recently highlighted. Now, if the PSL is played at the same time as the IPL, there are less chances of signing top international stars and this is exactly what has left the PSL franchise owners miffed.

The Pakistan Super League can be possibly played from April 10 to May 25 in the March-May window. The PSL franchise owners have accused the PCB of poor planning and not coming back to them with answers. This might very well impact the stability of the league and the financial operations of the board.
Pakistan Cricket In Turmoil
Pakistan , traditionally have been a great cricketing nation, but things as of now are in a extremely bad state. They recently got knocked out of the group stage of the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup after being defeated by USA. Following the World Cup debacle, Bangladesh also defeated them 2-0 and they have now slipped to the eighth spot of the WTC Finals standings.
