PCB likely to not get their way as Asia Cup 2020 set to be postponed: Report
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are reportedly finding out ways to organise Asia Cup 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic that continues to threaten the tournament.

Asia Cup 2020, originally scheduled to be std in September this year, is highly likely to be postponed in wake of ongoing worldwide coronavirus crisis. In 2018, it was reported by International Cricket Council (ICC) and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) that hosting rights of 2020 event will lie with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). In March, a meeting between PCB and ACC was expected to rule on status of Asia Cup 2020 before garing got postponed.

Since meeting set for March got postponed due to pandemic, re has been still official date set for Asia Cup 2020 by eir ACC or PCB. According to a report by Geo Super, sources within ACC recently stated that tournament might well be postponed altoger. Asia Cup 2020 was already marred by eugh controversies before pandemic with Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) stating ir refusal of sending Indian team citing security concerns.
With threat of coronavirus hovering above Asia Cup 2020 as well as T20 World Cup, it was reported in late April that BCCI are contemplating to eir host bilateral series or w-postponed Indian Premier League 2020 (IPL 2020) season during window. However, PCB chairman Ehsan Mani had asserted during same month that y will t agree to cancel Asia Cup 2020 in favour of IPL 2020.

According to several reports, PCB is currently churning out ways to organise Asia Cup. With BCCI’s security concerns for ir players, PCB was reportedly eyeing to handover hosting rights to eir Dubai or Bangladesh at one st. However, PCB chairman dismissed those reports in April by saying that hosting of Asia Cup 2020 in or countries are mere speculations at this st. It still remains to be seen what stand will PCB take w regarding continental T20 event.

Coronavirus: Impact on IPL 2020 and T20 World Cup
IPL 2020 season was originally intended to launch on March 29 with a match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. However, contagious nature of coronavirus disease prompted Indian government to impose India lockdown on March 25, i.e. just days before commencement of tournament.
