PM Modi and Sheikh Hasina might attend a Test match at Eden Gardens

PM Modi and his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina might attend the second Test match between India and Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata next month

PM Modi and his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina had recently bilateral talks in New Delhi i.e. on Saturday, October 5, 2019, to be precise. After the bilateral talks were exchanged, three projects were inaugurated post which PM Modi had organised a special lunch for Sheikh Hasina at the Hyderabad House in New Delhi. Meanwhile, as per reports, it has been learned that both Narendra Modi and Sheikh Hasina are all set to attend a cricket match together.

Modi and Sheikh Hasina to attend a cricket match

If things work out according to the plan, then both PM Narendra Modi and Sheikh Hasina might be in attendance during the second Test match of the upcoming series between India and Bangladesh. The second and final Test match is scheduled to be held at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata next month from November 22 to 26. This will be another instance where two Prime Ministers will be in attendance for watching a cricket match. The semi-final of the 2011 World Cup between arch-rivals India and Pakistan had witnesses the then Prime Ministers of the respective countries Manmohan Singh and  Yousaf Raza Gilani for the high-voltage encounter which was seen as the final before the final at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali.

Bangladesh Tour of India

The Bangladesh Cricket Team will be touring India for a bilateral series next month. Both teams will be playing three T20Is and two Test matches from November 3 to 26. Meanwhile, this will also be the first instance where Bangladesh will be playing a T20I series and a full Test series in India. The Test series will be a part of the ICC World Test Championship. India are currently the undisputed side in the World Test Championship rankings with 200 points. The squad of both teams is yet to be announced as of now. 

India have registered a comprehensive 2-0 win over South Africa in the ongoing Test series. The third and final Test will be played at Ranchi on Saturday.
