Pollard to be appointed West Indies limited-over captain: Reports
Kieron Pollard likely to be appointed limited-overs captain of West Indies team & replace Jason Holder & Brathwaite respectively as ODI & T20I captain

West Indies cricketer and all-rounder Kieron Pollard is likely to be appointed as limited-overs captain of West Indies team. He will be replacing present Jason Holder and Carlos Brathwaite as ODI and T20I captains respectively. According to a report in a Trinidad and Tobago publication, Cricket West Indies (CWI) board of directors, on Saturday, took this decision during ir first day of two-day regular quarterly meeting at Hilton Trinidad Hotel in Port-of-Spain.

Pollard New West Indies captain?
report states that selection committee proposed Pollard as captain and he got support from six directors. Earlier this year at ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in England, West Indies came in ninth position among 10 participating teams. Following ir unsatisfying performance at ODI event, West Indies also suffered defeats to India in a T20I series 0-3 and ODI series 0-2 which was hosted by West Indies. Holder though has mand to retain his position as Test captain despite a 0-2 defeat in a two-match series to India.
Pollard - An all-rounder
Pollard made his ODI debut in April 2006 and played his last match on October 5, 2016, against Pakistan. He was named as a reserve player for 2019 ICC World Cup and n played in T20Is against India. In ODIs, mighty Trinidadian has played 101 matches and scored 2289 runs at an aver of 25.71 with three centuries and nine half-centuries along with 50 wickets. Whereas, in 62 T20Is, he has scored 903 runs at an aver of 21.50 along with three half-centuries and has taken 23 wickets.

Currently, Pollard is captain of Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) in ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL). TKR has made a solid start to ir season with three wins in as many games and will next face Jamaica Tallawahs whom y beat by 22 runs in ir second match of CPL 2019. West Indies will next play against Afghanistan in ir away tour set to be played in Dehradun from vember 5. tour will see both sides compete in three T20Is, three ODIs, and one Test.
