In the inaugural Test match between India and South Africa, which transpired from December 26th to 28th, South Africa secured a resounding victory, triumphing by an innings and 32 runs. India took the batting crease first, amassing 245 runs in their initial innings, with KL Rahul notably contributing 101 runs. Responding to India's effort, South Africa posted a commanding total of 408 in their first innings, spearheaded by Dean Elgar's remarkable knock of 185. As the match progressed to the second innings, India faced a formidable challenge and could only manage a score of 131. In this phase, the bowling prowess of South Africa's Nandre Burger and Marco Jansen shone through. Their stellar performance played a pivotal role in restricting India's run flow. The standout player of the match was undeniably Dean Elgar, recognized for his exceptional batting display. This exciting cricket encounter unfolded at the iconic SuperSport Park Cricket Stadium, providing fans with a memorable spectacle of skill and competition.

Former India bowler made ‌huge statement regarding Prasidh Krishna

In his Test debut against South Africa, Prasidh Krishna struggled, showing inconsistent play, a lack of tactical awareness, and a noticeable lack of the core discipline needed to bowl in a Test match. His poor performance was a major factor in India's failure to put pressure on the South African batters, especially when Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah weren't part of the bowling attack.

Following the humiliating loss in Centurion by an innings and thirty-two runs, captain Rohit Sharma showed his backing for the inexperienced right-arm bowler. The quick addition of Avesh Khan to the team for the second game, which is scheduled to take place in Cape Town, indicates that Prasidh Krishna may not make the starting lineup.

Avesh Khan demonstrated his skill by taking five wickets in the opening innings of the second unofficial match between South Africa A and India A. Given Prasidh's difficulties, the decision to add him to the squad suggests that the club management is leaning towards other choices.

A former Indian bowler, whose name remains anonymous, made a huge statement about Prasidh’s poor performance, claiming that the right-arm pacer is not yet ready for Test cricket. Speaking to the PTI, he said:

“Poor Prasidh... The kid isn't ready for Test cricket. He doesn't have skills to bowl second and third spells yet. They went with him based on his ability to hit the deck. But they forgot when has he last played a proper season of Ranji Trophy? Just one India A game isn't enough,”

The bowler, who did not want their name to be revealed, further added:

"The problem is India's next generation of pacers don't evoke the same kind of excitement and confidence that Bumrah, Shami, Ishant and Siraj produced.

“Avesh is same type of bowler like Prasidh but plays red ball cricket more regularly. So he might hit better lengths. Navdeep Saini is still playing India A for six years. That tells you the story,”
